Surroundings
Castricum and Bakkum are located near the Noord-Hollandse dune-reserve, which is close to the Noordzee beaches. The coastline is enriched by a large natural reserve with forests, dunes, polder landscape, beaches and the sea. There are lots of facillities for surfers, swimmers and sunbathers, and there are many trails for cyclists and hikers through this beautiful area.
Explanation about growth and flowering and animal life in the dunes is given in the visitor center “de Hoep”. Nice to visit with children. The facillities in the surrounding area are good. With many restaurants, shops, cinema and swimming pool within walking distance. In cooperation with the local bicycle rental, we can have bicycles delivered at your request.
E-bikes are also an option. It is very easy to visit the following cities from Castricum. Alkmaar is the closest at 13 km, Haarlem is 19 km, Amsterdam is 25 km from the hotel. The nearest airport is Schiphol Airport, 27 km away.
